The 20 Reasons Startups Fail
Build Your Startup Like a Serial Entrepreneur
Designing your business model
Remember when we talked earlier about startup founders being like elite athletes? We view this program like training camp for founders. We want to help provide you with the tactical tools and mindsets needed to win, and we will coach you to strengthen and apply these skills.
Ultimately, however, your success is up to you. Success in building a valuable business comes from consistently showing up and doing the work. It's why we love the slogan “Eat the Broccoli” so much, which is taken from an episode of the podcast, The Startup Chat with Steli and Hiten (episode 437).
“Eat the Broccoli” refers to the discipline required to become great at anything. There is no quick fix for getting healthy, and often you don’t want to do the things that you know are the healthy choices. Similarly, there is no magic shortcut to building a business that solves a real problem, makes an impact, or creates value for customers and for yourself.
The best startup founders know this. They develop a mental map to guide them to make smart strategic decisions. They hone their skills just like athletes run drills and practice fundamentals. And ultimately, they buckle down and eat the broccoli.
We are excited and honored to be on this journey with you, and we cannot wait to get started!
